The Ministry also participates in regional cooperation programs and European projects such as: Interreg Europe, which aim to improve policies for a green Europe and sustainable development through the exchange of knowledge, examples of good practice and strengthening institutional capacities.
Within the framework of climate activities, the Ministry is working on the development and implementation of strategic documents and action plans for air protection and reduction of harmful gas emissions, including accurate reporting of national climate inventory data.
European plans and initiatives
The Ministry actively participates in implementing a series of European and international plans, projects and initiativesin order to improve the environment, adapt to climate change and align with European standards and regulations. Within the framework of the European integration process, the Ministry coordinates the adoption and transposition of European Union legislation in the field of environment and climate change, known as "Chapter 27", thus directly contributing to the fulfillment of the criteria for membership of the Republic of North Macedonia in the EU.
In addition, the Ministry cooperates with international and missions such as support for alignment with EU law and regional projects for biodiversity protection and sustainable land management, through activities financed by European funds and partnerships with neighboring countries.
