"Eco-Innovation Hub" promoted at the Faculty of Economics - Prilep: education, innovation and circular economy in practice

 Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Ms. Ane Laškoska, today attended and addressed the closing event of the project "Eco-Innovation Hub", which was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, and was held at the premises of the Faculty of Economics in Prilep. Prof. Dr. Monika Angeloska-Dichovska and the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Tatjana Spaseska also addressed the opening speeches.

The event presented the results of the project, the newly established eco-innovation laboratory. Addressing the attendees, Deputy Minister Laškoska emphasized that such initiatives play a key role in connecting education, innovation and environmental protection, emphasizing the importance of the practical application of knowledge and the active involvement of young people in the green transition.

"When we talk about green transition, we are not just talking about policies and strategies, but about knowledge, skills and people. Such hubs are places where young people not only learn, but also create solutions for the future and become active carriers of sustainable change," said Laškoska.

She added that support for the "Eco-Innovation Hub" project is part of the Ministry's efforts to develop green skills, apply innovative technologies, and encourage circular business models, in line with European policies and the European Green Deal.

The active role of the students was particularly emphasized, who participated in the development and production of eco-products through workshops and practical work.

The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning remains a dedicated partner in supporting projects that contribute to sustainable education, innovation, and approximation to European standards for a green and circular economy.

20 years of the Spatial Planning Agency – continuity, vision and European direction

Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Ane Laškoska, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski and Director of the Spatial Planning Agency Aleksandar Gelevski, addressed the ceremonial event marking 20 years of the existence and work of the Spatial Planning Agency.

The event was dedicated to the continuity, development and significant role of the Agency in the system of spatial and urban planning, during which the video presentation "20 years of continuity" was also presented.

In her address, Lashkoska emphasized that the anniversary confirms the role of the Agency as a pillar of expertise and professionalism, emphasizing that its establishment in 2005 strengthened the institutional framework for the preparation of spatial and regional plans, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.

She emphasized that the Spatial Plan represents a vision for sustainable development, rational resource management, climate resilience and green infrastructure, informing that the country is in the final phase of preparing the Draft Spatial Plan, which will be fully digitalized and aligned with European standards.

The Ministry confirms its commitment to promoting spatial planning as a key public policy, through the application of modern methodologies and the integration of climate and environmental aspects, in order to ensure smart, balanced and sustainable territorial development in the interest of citizens and the environment.

New air quality web portal of the Ministry of Environment and Public Health

We would like to inform you that a new air quality web portal of the Ministry of Environment and Public Health is now operational, which you can access via the existing address. https://air.moepp.gov.mk. You can still view the data from all monitoring stations in real time. The novelty is that they are compared with the new index, which is in line with the European Air Quality Index, which began to be implemented on July 4, 2025. The website has improved performance, improved analyses in the area of ​​exceeding limit values ​​in the current year, as well as annual analyses for previous years.

A mobile application for displaying air quality data has also been released for Android and iOS, the download links of which can be found on the website.

Human Rights and the Environment: A New Incentive for Institutional Accountability and Access to Justice

Deputy Minister of Environment, Ane Laškoska, today in Skopje, together with the Deputy Ombudsman, Sonja Trifunovska, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the UNDP, Ana Cherniishova, and the Human Rights Advisor in the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatiana Temelkoska, gave introductory speeches at the conference "Human Rights and the Environment - Promoting Access to Justice and Institutional Accountability".

The event, organized by UNDP in cooperation with the Office of the Ombudsman and OHCHR, is being implemented within the framework of a project to strengthen the role of the Ombudsman in the field of environmental justice, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.

Конференцијата обезбеди платформа за дијалог за еколошките права како составен дел од човековите права, со фокус на пристапот до информации, учество во процесите и пристапот до правда, како и институционалната отчетност и координација.

Во своето обраќање, Лашкоска нагласи дека правото на здрава животна средина е уставно загарантирано човеково право и истакна дека Министерството останува посветено на транспарентни, инклузивни и отчетни политики.

Преку тематските панели за еколошката правда и улогата на локалната самоуправа, беше потенцирана потребата од силни и координирани институции, при што присуството на градоначалници ја нагласи важноста на локалното ниво во креирањето ефективни еколошки политики.

Министерството за животна средина и просторно планирање ја потврди својата заложба за унапредување на правната рамка и институционалната одговорност, со цел обезбедување чиста, здрава и безбедна животна средина за сите граѓани.
